Todd Williams Woodturner
Finely crafted turned wood items
Since retiring from 3M in 2006, I have followed my passion for woodturning. All my creations are hand-turned on a lathe. I have taken instruction and training from many internationally known woodturners, and I have endeavored to master many different styles and forms, using almost entirely woods native to North America.
My repertoire includes bowls, lidded boxes, items with tall and delicate finials, wooden jewelry, platters and hollow forms. Surface embellishment with woodburning or carving sometimes graces my pieces. A signature of my work is an excellent surface finish. In 2017 and 2018, I won Blue Ribbons at the MN State Fair with extra awards for “excellent craftsmanship.” I am a long-time member of the Minnesota Woodturners Association and the American Association of Woodturners.
Some of my items are on display and sale at Stillwater Art Guild Gallery, 402 Main St. N, Stillwater, MN 55082, (651) 689-0149, and the Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust St., Hudson, WI 54016, (715) 386-2305.
I welcome commissioned work.
I live in Lake Elmo, MN, and can be reached by telephone and email.
A word about wood: Wood is a product of nature and is subject to many variations in color, grain pattern and perfection. Small defects are to be expected and appreciated. Also, wood moves with temperature and humidity, so don't be surprised. Finally, almost all my pieces can be hand washed in water. Never put them in a dishwasher. Enjoy wood!
